AMERICAN ROAD
I didn't see the film Easy Rider until it was shown on
British TV in 1996. However, the idea of riding a
motorcycle across the USA had always appealed to me. In
the early 1980s my sister, Philippa, and her husband,
Mike, were living in the USA, in Arizona, so I saved up
my pounds and pences, and my leave allowance from my job
in the scientific civil service, and resolved to fulfil my
ambition. This is an account of that journey.
