About Peatmore Press |
| Peatmore Press was established as an on-line magazine
by Keith Jahans in 1996. It was
originally described as
providing entertainment and information with short stories, serials, quizzes plus a few references
for those interested in veterinary/marine microbiology. Nowadays
it serves mainly as a show case and outlet for short stories and novels
in paperback and e-book formats. In 2009 Peatmore Press Limited was formed to publish and market its own brand of books and e-books. Further publications are planned for 2010. Keith Jahans was born in Bristol in July 1948 and left Bristol in 1967 to study applied biology in Barking, Essex. He moved to Surrey in 1969 where he now lives and works. He has gained membership of the Society of Biology and an MSc in Immunology at the University of London. In 2008 he retired from his post at the Veterinary Laboratories Agency where he led a small team of scientists involved in the diagnosis of bovine tuberculosis in animals and was also the VLA's designated international expert on bovine tuberculosis for the OIE (World Animal Health Organisation). He began writing fiction to amuse himself, friends and family in his early teens. His first novel, Cogrill's Mill, was released as an e-book in 2005 and as a paperback book in 2009. He decided to use the penname of Jack Lindsey for this novel to separate his fictional work from that he has published as a microbiologist. A second novel, Victim of Compromise was published on 15 February 2010. The story is darker and more explicit than the first novel so it is published under a second penname of Luke Johnson. He now concentrates on his fiction writing and lives in Woking, England with his wife and two children. |
